I am a Network Marketing Professional and accredit my early activities in Affiliate Marketing to my current success. Since 2012 we have run an informal poll to see how widely used digital marketing strategies are. The results have shown some big improvements over the years. A few years ago we found around two-thirds to three-quarters did not have a digital marketing plan. Now that number has shrunk to 45% in latest survey, although that is still quite high, and means almost half are still doing digital with no strategy in place.
The last thing I would say to new affiliate marketers is that self awareness is SO important. It’s easy to get caught in the routine of doing what you think is working, when it’s actually not working. Always be looking at what others are doing in your niche; always be re-evaluating your game plan; and always be thinking about new ways to hit your audience.
For example, what are the quality and quantity of the links that have been created over time? Are they natural and organic links stemming from relevant and high quality content, or are they spammy links, unnatural links or coming from bad link neighborhoods? Are all the links coming from the same few websites over time or is there a healthy amount of global IP diversification in the links?
What does cost you, however, is the time in executing any of these tactics. We all know that SEO is hard. But when it comes to online marketing, that sweat equity pays off over time. When traffic is coming unencumbered to your website in the form of thousands of free and highly-targeted visitors per day, you ultimately realize that all those long hours you put in were worth something.
All of these are means to the same end. The goal? Get the word out. Get people informed about whatever product, service or information you’re offering. And, ultimately, boost your visibility.
